Life does not cease to be funny when people die any more than it ceases to be serious when people laugh.George Bernard Shaw

This memorial website was created to remember our mother, Victoria Antoinette Aburto, who was born in  Redwood City, Ca. on March 6, 1951 and passed away on July 27, 2006 at the age of 55. She will live forever in our memories and hearts. Our mother was so loving and caring, she always had time for others and was always ready to sit and listen to peoples' problems. You could always find her curled up with a book and a cup of coffee. Victoria's laughter was contagious, she loved to 'people watch' and made friends everywhere she went. When she became a grandmother for the first time, you could see a renewed brightness in her eyes, this light grew brighter as more grandchildren came into the family. Our mother loved good stories, the funnier the better, she loved to re-tell her favorites. Some of her favorite past times were reading, listening to music, looking through art books, watching Russell Crowe movies, playing scrabble, sitting outdoors and looking at nature. Mom's book collection was something else!! She could show you books on fairies or hobbits, the poetry of Kahlil Gibran, the art of Maxfield Parrish, romance novels and her more recent interest was about the Scottish during the 16th century. Whenever I picture her, I see her sitting outside, looking at her flowers and asking if I want a cup of coffee, or if I'm hungry. Our mother was always there with a blanket and would offer up the best seat on the couch. She loved to bundle us up; she was always wrapping up her grandkids or running after them with sunscreen. We will miss her very much, more than words can convey, but we know she is with us in spirit and watching over us all. Mom, you made the best book...we will finish the story for you, we love you and we will see you every night in our dreams. Until we are together again, our love till the end of time.
